Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body. It makes up 1.5 to 2 percent of the total boy weight, and the bones contain more than 99 percent of the body’s calcium. In addition to it’s major function in building and maintaining bone and teeth, calcium is important in much of the body’s enzymatic activity.
